What is MD4

This is an abbreviation for Message-Digest algorithm 4. It is a commonly used cryptographic hash function with a 128-bit hash value.  Used for file authentication, checksum, check digits, fingerprints, ciphers  and error detecting. See Universal Hash and HMAC Generator.
