Business Terms and Jargon Explained

What is SIPP

Is an abbreviation for self-invested personal pension. This allows a person to create and manage his own pension from approved HMRC instruments i.e. stock and bonds. They manage their own portfolio rather than a pension fund manager. There is a limit to the amount that can be added to the portfolio annually tax-free and any profit or dividends is tax-free and stays in the fund until it matures. As this is a long term strategy the limits and law may change over time.
